Rewind, play, pause
The year is seemingly disappearing at some rate and I wanted to take a pause to be thankful to the labels who have supported my music in 2023: Brachliegen Tapes, Difficult Art and Music, and Hard Return.
There are still a few cassette versions of scree and Interior Monologues available, and Echo is name your price. I also have music included in Difficult Art and Music’s subscriber exclusive mix Quite Difficult.
I am very grateful to have a track called Post-Memoria (following on from my 2022 album Memoria on the label) on Histamine Tape’s five year anniversary compilation, alongside so many great artists. All money raised from sales of this album will be donated to VT Flood Response and Recovery Fund 2023.
I’m excited for upcoming cassette releases on labels in the remaining months of this year - updates to follow. Work has also been well underway for physical releases on Heavy Cloud Sounds in 2024.
Lapsus memoriae
The latest CAMP Radio show aired on 29 July May on listen.camp and is now available to listen back over on CAMP Radio’s Mixcloud.
I was delighted to share a beautiful guest mix from James A. McDermid. James chose wonderful tracks by Oliver Coates, Tony Dupé, Ryefield Society, Cucina Povera & Andrew Chalk.
James’ mix is bookended by selections from his own discography, plus tracks by Philip Jeck & Chris Watson, O YAMO O, David Wallraf, Graham Lambkin, Vincent Over the Sink, Daniel Blumberg, Francis M. Gri + more.

Divers
Through the rain and the clouds, there I wander
And here the light of the sun is no longer beautiful
For my thoughts are like a grey night
And I'm hungry like a figure in a painting
At that moment I get used to it
Crying with the clouds, until the earth changes
In the presence of the rain I fall asleep
To an album by Graham Lambkin
I sink and I float; feel the moment
How close the gathered sounds flow through me
Sand turns to fire, the soul sways like bells
As the heart fills, then bursts with peonies
I create a sad sunset with my colour
But I will not forget this rainy evening
When I went walking and was listening
to Graham Lambkin listening
to the sounds around him
